Materials

The core of this diaper is made from absorbent microfibre fabric. This all-in-one diaper features a stiched-in absorbent stay-dry layer that feels soft on the skin and helps to keep your baby dry. The outer layer of the diaper is water-resistant polyester fabric which has been laminated on the inside surface to keep liquid locked in.

Polyester fibers have been used throughout this diaper and were chosen due to their fast-drying properties. Whilst polyester is associated with high energy and water consumption, the quick drying time means lower energy consumption throughout its use - better for our planet and cheaper for you!

FABRIC COMPOSITIONS:

100% polyester laminated to polyurethane

How easy it is to use reusable diapers?

      +

Reusable diapers really aren’t too different from single-use diapers (apart from all the great features of course) and if you follow a few of our simple steps, you’ll be fitting them like a pro before you know it!

    • 2

      Step by step basics

      +

First, adjust the poppers to get the right fit for your baby. Doing this before you change your wriggly baby will make things a lot easier. If you’re using liners (either Messless or Revolutionary Reusable), place one in the centre of the diaper. Next, lay your baby down on the open diaper and pull the front up, securing in place by using the adjustable tabs. Check that the boosters and fabric are all tucked inside and that the elastic edge sits in the leg line. For a comfortable fit you should be able to slide two fingers easily into the waistband at the front.

    • 3

How often do I need to change the diaper?

      +

Just like all diapers, you'll need to check and change them every 2 - 4 hours throughout the day. At night-time, combine boosters if required for a peaceful night's sleep. Our flexi booster is made from super-absorbent hemp and is extra long and designed to be folded for additional absorbency where needed (great for front sleepers).

Can I use your misolo diapers from newborn?

      +

The miosolo will fit your baby from around 3 months old depending on their size. If you are looking for a diaper that will fit your baby from newborn, you'll love our new Revolutionary Reusable diaper.

    • 5

How many diapers do I need?

      +

When your baby is young their diaper should be regularly checked and changed every 2-4 hours. You can store used diapers in your Stay at home wet bag for up to 3 days before washing. With this in mind, we recommend that you need 20 diapers so that you have some to use while others are in the wash. Our Everything bundle comes complete with all 20 diapers plus a selection of accessories.

What's the difference between liners and boosters?

      +

Liners are designed to make diaper changes a little easier by catching poo and helping you to remove it in a mess-free way. Add one liner on top of the diaper and when it's time to change, simply lift off the liner and dispose of the poo down the toilet. Replace with a new liner at every diaper change. We offer two options; Messless liners are disposable and made from plant-based materials and our Revolutionary Reusable liners can be washed with your diapers and reused again and again.

Boosters are designed to add extra absorbency to your diapers. These are especially great for long periods such as overnight or if your baby is a heavy wetter. Before fitting the diaper, insert a booster into the pocket of your diaper. Find out more about boosters in our Fit Guide.

How do I use the poppers?

      +

Get your poppers into the right position before each diaper change – it’s a lot easier when you don’t have a wriggly baby in the diaper.

If you have a newborn baby you’ll need to use the bottom set of poppers, attaching them to the closing top set. Once your baby is a toddler you’ll probably have no need to use the poppers at all however the adjustable tabs at the front will allow you to alter the fit as their shape changes.

    • 1

Removing the poop (it’s really not a big deal)

      +

When it comes to changing your baby’s diaper, just open the diaper and remove any poop, tipping it into the toilet. Liners are really handy for this job and take the fuss out of this messy step. Our Messless liners can be thrown away after use whereas our Revolutionary Reusable liners can be set aside for the wash. If any poop gets onto the surface of the diaper, you may prefer to rinse it through to stop any staining.

    • 2

How do I clean poo off diapers?

      +

Newborn poops are runnier as their diet is liquid. During this time, you can rinse off the poop under running water. This can be done in the toilet bowl or at the sink. If you use the toilet, hold on to one corner of the diaper firmly and let the clean water wash away the poop. If you use your sink, be sure to clean the sink afterwards.

Newborn poop doesn't need to be washed off before storing your dirty diapers until wash day, but it will help to reduce odours and staining.

When wash day comes, don't overload your washing machine to allow your diapers to wriggle around in the wash and get extra clean. 2 heaped tablespoons of Bright & mighty cleanser to your washing detergent drawer will add a boost to your laundry and help tackle tough stains and odours.

When you start weaning your baby onto solid food, you'll notice their poop will change. At this stage, our Messless liners or Revolutionary Reusable liners will make cleaning your diapers quicker and easier. Both of these are designed to sit inside the diaper to catch solids and help reduce soiling.

How do you wash reusable diapers?

      +

Store your diapers for up to 3 days at most and when wash day arrives, empty the contents of your Stay at home wet bag into the washing machine drum. For an economical and planet-friendly wash, it’s best to always do full loads but make sure you don't overload your washing machine. Filling your machine to around ¾ full will ensure your diapers can wriggle around in the wash and get extra clean. We recommend washing your diapers at 104°F (but no more than 140°F ) with non-biological laundry detergent. There's no need to use fabric softener when washing, as this can affect the absorbency of your diapers. Add 3 tablespoons of Bright & mighty diaper cleanser to add a boost to your laundry and help tackle tough stains and odours.

    • 4

How do you dry reusable diapers?

      +

We recommend air drying your diapers either inside or outside whenever possible and away from direct heat. If necessary, our diapers can be tumble-dried on a low/cold setting.

    • 5

What do I need to do before the wash?

      +

When you take a used nappy off your baby, we recommend you pull out the stiched-in layer from the pocket and remove any boosters inserts from the diaper pocket before you store them.

    • 6

How should I store my diapers before wash day?

      +

In between washes, store your diapers for three days at most in your Stay at home wet bag. This can be positioned anywhere that is within reach of your change table. The wet bag can be sealed shut using a fold, roll and clip method however we recommend leaving the bag open if possible which will allow air to circulate and reduce odours.

    • 7

Do I need to pre-wash my diaper before washing?

      +

No. Pre-washing is not required if you follow our washing instructions carefully. Reducing the amount of time you use your machine is a great way to lower your carbon footprint and our diapers are designed for a simple and easy clean. However, if you do decide you need to run a pre-wash, select a short, cold wash cycle and half a scoop of detergent, and then store your diapers damp until you have enough diapers for a full wash.

Can I wash other items with my diapers?

      +

Absolutely! And this is a great way to ensure you are using your machine and energy as efficiently as possible.

    • 10

What temperature can I wash my diapers at?

      +

We recommend washing your diapers at 104°F with enzyme free laundry detergent. Follow your machine manufacturer’s guide to find out the required dose for your machine. Do not use fabric softener when washing, as this can affect the absorbency of your diapers.

    • 11

How can I make sure that my diapers are extra clean and hygenic?

      +

We recommend adding 3 tablespoons of our Bright & mighty diaper cleanser to your washing detergent drawer too. This will add a boost to your laundry and help tackle tough stains and odours.

    • 12

      Can I iron my diapers?

      +

No, please don't iron your diapers, as this can affect their performance.

    • 13

How do I do a strip wash?

      +

Simply soak your diapers in a hand hot solution of Bright & mighty diaper cleanser for at least 2 hours. Use 3 tablespoons of cleanser for every 4 litres of water. After soaking, wash your diapers in the washing machine as you normally would. We would recommend giving your diapers an additional rinse after your cycle to be sure all the cleanser has been removed.

How do you use reusables diapers when out?

      +

When you head out for the day, pack your diaper bag with everything you need for your trip including enough diapers to get you through the day. When it comes to change-time, simply store your used diapers in your Out & about wet bag to keep them separate. When you get home you can transfer them into your Stay at home wet bag or pop them straight into the washing machine. Simple!

    • 2

Can I use reusable diapers on the maternity ward?

      +

We recommend confirming your plans with your hospital as they will have their own procedures and rules (just in case). Your midwife is also likely to be able to advise you. Make sure you have enough diapers for your hospital stay - probably around 8 diapers. Our Out & about wet bag is a handy storage solution for when you are away from home.

    • 1

      What are reusable diapers?

      +

Reusable diapers are diapers that you don't throw away. They are designed to be reused and then reloved and are made of super soft, high performance fabrics rather than plastic which can be found in single-use diapers. Reusable diapers are sometimes called 'cloth diapers' or 'washable diapers' but it all means the same thing.

    • 2

Should I wash the diapers before I use them?

      +

Yes, this will remove any loose fibres and increases the absorbency ready for use. Before each wash, close the tabs on the diapers to protect the fabrics in the machine. Run a normal wash, use a non-bio detergent, and avoid using any fabric softener.

    • 3

Are reusable diapers really better for the environment?

      +

Yes. When washed responsibly and according to our care instructions, reusable diapers stop 5000 single-use diapers from being thrown away and produce 25% less CO2.

    • 4

How well do reusable diapers perform?

      +

The first thing a diaper has to do is perform and our diapers do just that. Reusable diapers use multiple layers of super-absorbent fabric for ultimate leak protection. Any parent will tell you, that you can experience a leak in every type of diaper now and again! But the key is getting the right fit for your baby and ensuring you've prepped your diaper with the absorbency level you require.

    • 5

Why are reusable diapers better for my baby's skin?

      +

Our Revolutionary Reusable diapers are made from super-absorbent fabric rather than chemical gels that can be found in single-use diapers. Our fabrics and materials are OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified which means they are free from nasties which will help with skin irritation and reduce the chance of diaper rash.

    • 6

How do reusable diapers help me save money?

      +

You can make huge savings by using reusable diapers instead of single-use diapers - even when you take into account the washing costs. This saving will get even bigger when you use your diaper stash on a second child too.

Praticissimi!

Best eco nappies!!!

I swapped from using Eco naps after 6 months of daily use as I started to experience a lot of leaks. I started using more and more disposables again as I had lost trust that I could get the quality I needed in an eco option with constant outfit changes and her waking up from naps wet through .

After buying a trial pack with Bambino Mio , I could not believe the difference it made. The Bambino Mio are so absorbent even with just the inbuilt liner , quick to put on my squirming baby and dry super fast! Like overnight rather than days it was taking me before which means I now do lots less nappy washes. They even last around 4 hours and my daughter is a heavy wetter and usually have to change her during the night.

This is not a paid review, I’m just so blown away with how these have changed our lives as a family very conscious of our footprint. I will never look back and hope you will give them a try .
